Khadki a town near Pune in Maharashtra is the site of the Battle of Khadki, during the British Raaj. Soon after the war, the British set up a cantonment here. Post-Independence it continues to be the base for the Indian Army, along with an ordnance factory consisting of two ammunition factories, a Military Vehicle Depot (Central Armed Forces Vehicle Depot, CAFVD) and the Military Dairy Farm.
This famous cantonment hamlet was chosen by the founder, the late lamented Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilus to set up a school for the people of Khadki. It was named St. Thomas Public School after one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. This institution which is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune, was started in 1989. It was initially supervised and guided by our founder late lamented Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilus whose dream was to make Khadki an educational hub.
The St. Thomas Education Society founded in the year 1989 runs the school with the help of the local Managing Committee. The school has maintained a 100% result since its first batch appeared for the SSC exam in the academic year 1999–2000.
